Start Sailing (Level 1)

An introductory course where you will quickly learn how to sail a dinghy. Learning how to rig and launch a dinghy, which ropes to pull on at the right time, how to steer the boat up and down wind, tacking and gybing - and of course how to avoid collisons - are all taught as a fun and interactive learning experience. By the end of this course you will be sailing in light wind conditions (with assistance from your instructor if necessary)

Basic Skills (Level 2)

This basic skills course enables you to take command of your own boat and apply the five essential rules of sailing that will help you to control your boat better, sail faster and have more fun learning new manoeuvres. Righting a capsized dinghy, picking up a "man overboard" and coming alongside a pontoon are just some of the techniques you will learn on this course.

Improving Skills

Advance your sailing skills during this action packed week ! Feel the thrill of sailing in a range of wind conditions, roll tacking, gybing and learning to sail your boat backwards or without a rudder ! By the end of this course you will have mastered a range of skills to handle your boat competently.

Kites & Wires

Feel the thrill of hiking out on a trapeze or flying downwind under spinnaker! You will learn how to rig, fly, gybe and trim spinnakers and how to maximise your boat speed using a trapeze in a range of wind conditions. You will also learn how to handle your dinghy safely when using kites and wires. Come on board and enjoy plenty of thrills and spills along the way!

Adventure Sailing

An exciting week developing your skills and knowledge to undertake longer sailing trips - Passage Planning, Passage Making, Anchoring, Interpreting the Weather Forecast, Navigation, Coastal Knowledge - are some of the elements you will practise during the week. For trainee Instructors this course is an ideal learning week to prepare for your Sailing Instructor Pre-Entry Test. It is also a great foundation week for budding yacht or cruiser sailors.
