The Oysterhaven Trainee Instructor Panel
Are you between 15 and 18 and keen to take your watersports to the next level? Join our Trainee Instructor Panel where you can develop your skills in a range of watersports, make friends with similar interests and have a lot of fun.
Our team of professional instructors will guide you on a structured pathway towards the possibility of gaining an Instructor Award over a 2-3 year period. Training takes place during weekends in the autumn and spring, together with intensive training over Easter. You will be mentored in the ‘soft’ skills necessary for instructing, such as leadership, group control and effective communication, as well as gaining pre-requisite skills for Instructor courses such as First Aid, Powerboat, and VHF qualifications. You will also be invited to gain work experience with us during the summer months, practicing your skills under the supervision of professional instructors.
Join a fun, active and sociable club environment in which you will learn a range of valuable skills and may go on to gain an instructor qualification.
How can I join?
If you have completed a skills course with us in 2016 and are 15 or over by September then come and join us!
Give your name and details at reception and we will contact you about our 2016 Instructor Panel open day.
